Dear colleagues and friends,
It is both a pleasure and a privilege to host the 5th Biennial European Congress of the International Society for Infectious Diseases in Gynecology and Obstetrics (ISIDOG), on October 19-22, in Athens Greece. It is an event that has already become not only an acclaimed international institution in the field of women’s infectious diseases, but also a well sought after meeting point of scientists, researchers and colleagues from all over the world.
Our aim is to make this year’s Congress even more popular and influential, building upon the solid foundations of the previous meetings. The Congress Committee’s goal is to further enhance the “family” atmosphere innate of the Congress, enabling participation of a broad spectrum of scientists, strengthening the bonds between participants and combining a high quality scientific agenda with a comforting and entertaining social programme.
Accordingly, the scientific programme, that intermingles local and international scientists, will include topics in the areas of prevention, diagnosis and therapeutic treatment of infections in women, both pregnant or not. Our endeavours aim at the setup of a comprehensive, high quality and, at the same time, fresh and exciting working programme that will allow participants to further expand their knowledge, exchange views with experts and network with colleagues all over Europe and the rest of the world.
To that end, I am pretty confident that Athens provides the best backdrop. Greece’ s capital is a city synonymous to history and culture and at the same time vibrant and modern.
With these few words and lots of expectations, I look forward to welcoming you to Athens in October, for a very fruitful and an even more enjoyable Congress!
Aristotelis Tsiakalos, MD, PhD
Congress Chair
Dear Colleague, dear scientist, dear friend,
The International Society for Infectious Diseases in Obstetrics (ISIDOG) proudly announces its 5th Biennial European Congress. ISIDOG conferences are unique experiences and we would warmly invite you to come and join us in Athens from 19 - 22 October 2023. ISIDOG unites top clinicians and researchers from all over Europe and far abroad to come together and share knowledge and friendship. Also a strong interaction with the industry is very important for ISIDOG.
As we aim for high quality and maximal interaction, we organize rather small conferences (around 200 attendees) and limit parallel sessions to an absolute minimum. Participation fees are kept modest, and are adapted to your level of education and originating country, in order nobody would feel held back from attending.
In the programme we present a wide variety of topics, from biology, diagnostics and guidelines, to therapy, prevention and vaccination of all types of infections, inside or outside pregnancy, sexually transmitted or not, and would welcome all to present their contributions in the field. Instead of typical posters, we invite everyone to present their free communications or electronic posters with some slides, followed by discussion. Several prizes for best presentations will be awarded and proclaimed at the end of the Congress.
Athens is a very inviting and cultural city and we will ensure a wide range of social activities to be introduced in the programme in order to make the Congress feel as a trip with family and friends.
I would be happy not only to meet you in Athens on our meeting, but also to welcome you as an ISIDOG member (www.isidog.com), as this will dramatically reduce your participation fees, and give you access to our guidelines, activities like microscopy courses, and a right to vote for future Board members. In the name of all ISIDOG Board members and Dr. Aristotelis Tsiakalοs and his organizing team,
Prof. Dr. Gilbert DondersPresident of ISIDOG
